The change order technician is responsible for the administrative and operational flow of project modifications.key responsibilities· post-design tracking: receive completed change documents from design engineering and immediately log them into the master tracking system.
· approval acceleration: monitor the status of pending approvals (internal and wider vertiv team).
use a \"follow-up and escalate\" approach to ensure stakeholders sign off on engineering changes within the required service level agreement (sla) window.
· switchgear component monitoring: maintain specific focus on long-lead switchgear items affected by changes (e.g., breakers, busbars, enclosures) to ensure procurement is notified the moment a change is finalized.
· master spreadsheet maintenance: own the accuracy of the change order log.
update status fields daily to reflect where each change sits in the lifecycle (e.g., submitted, pending approval, closed).
· status reporting: generate weekly reports for project teams, highlighting any change orders that are stalled in the workflow.required qualifications· experience: 1–3 years in a technical clerical, project coordination, or expediting role.
experience in a manufacturing or electrical construction environment is a major plus.
· technical literacy: ability to read basic electrical line diagrams and identify switchgear terminology to ensure data entry accuracy.
