The general accountant will be responsible forcompleting accounting activities related to the general ledger.responsibilities include completing and processing large numbers ofjournal entries, performing account reconciliations, and providefinancials reports in accordance with u.s. Gaap and vertiv policiesand procedures.
the position will report to the accounting manager.significant interaction with other departments, businessdisciplines and international operations will be required by thisindividual.
responsibilities - perform and collaborate in theaccounting closing process carrying out specific tasks on a timelymanner ensuring the financial integrity of the financialstatements.
- prepare journal entries related to projectaccounting, revenue, costs of sales, work in progress, deferredrevenue and unbilled revenue, and other.
- prepare monthly andquarterly accruals.
- ownership of the balance sheet controlreconciliations including investigation of reconciling items toclear in a timely manner.
work towards resolution of open itemspartnering with business units and other departments.
- researchesand investigates accounting issues as required.
- provide variousfinancial reports to finance management as requested.
- maintaincompliance with generally accepted accounting principles (gaap) andinternal cp&p.
- support internal and external audit processescollaborating with other departments to meet deliverables andaddress explanations.
- identify potential areas for processimprovements and work towards standardization and optimization ofprocesses.
qualifications - 1+ years of experience in accounting.
-in-depth knowledge of us gaap.
- very proficient in spreadsheets,databases, ms office, and financial software applications.
- strongorganizational and project management skills.
