Hr business partner – mexico
multinational company seeks a dynamic and experienced hr business partner to support our growing operations in mexico. We are looking for a professional who can hit the ground running, someone equally comfortable managing the precision of payroll compliance and the complexity of driving local and regional hr initiatives in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
the role
reporting to the regional hr manager for latin america, you will serve as the primary hr point of contact for mexico. The role is structured around two core pillars:
* payroll & compliance (primary focus): own end-to-end payroll processing for mexico, ensuring full accuracy, legal compliance, and timely execution. You will be the in-country authority on mexican labor law, social security obligations (imss/infonavit), and regulatory updates.
* hr generalist & people initiatives (secondary focus): partner with regional and global hr teams to implement company-wide programs, including employee engagement surveys, action plan follow-through, talent development initiatives, and onboarding/recruitment support.
what you will do
* manage monthly payroll operations in mexico, including variable pay, benefits administration, and statutory deductions (isr, imss, infonavit, fonacot)
* ensure compliance with the ley federal del trabajo and all applicable local labor regulations; stay current on legislative changes
* serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on hr matters, policies, and people practices
* lead the local implementation of the annual employee engagement survey process, from survey coordination to action plan design and progress tracking
* support regional and global hr initiatives, contributing a mexico-market perspective to company-wide programs
* coordinate recruitment processes for mexico-based roles, partnering with hiring managers on sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding
* identify training needs and coordinate learning & development programs aligned with global standards
* maintain accurate employee records and ensure hr data integrity in the hris
* support employee relations matters, performance management cycles, and organizational changes
what we're looking for
* 7+ years of hr experience, with a significant portion in payroll management in mexico (non-negotiable requirement),
* strong command of mexican labor legislation, tax law, and social security frameworks
* proven experience in an international, multicultural hr environment (multinational company experience its a pluss),
* hands-on experience with employee engagement surveys process.
* generalist hr background covering recruitment, training, employee relations, and people development
* ability to balance operational excellence with strategic hr thinking
* strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills across multiple levels and cultures
* fluency in spanish and english (written and spoken) — required for regional collaboration
* proficiency in hris and payroll systems
