staff web ui engineer (remote) role overview
we are seeking a highly experienced staff web ui engineer to join our engineering team in a fully remote capacity. This is a strategic, hands-on technical leadership role where you will shape the future of our web platform, drive architectural decisions, and ensure exceptional performance, scalability, and user experience across our applications. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, design, backend, and devops while mentoring engineers and championing best practices in modern web development.
Responsibilities
lead web development initiatives: design, develop, and maintain modern, responsive, and high-performance web applications using angular and contemporary web technologies.
Architecture & technical design: translate product and business requirements into scalable, maintainable, and robust technical solutions.
Git branching strategy: define, manage, and enforce advanced git branching strategies to support efficient development workflows and high code quality.
Frequent release management: oversee release trains and predictable delivery cycles using feature flags to decouple deployment from feature activation and enable progressive rollouts.
Ci/cd & automation: partner with devops to design, implement, and continuously improve ci/cd pipelines, ensuring automated testing, integration, and deployment.
Code reviews & quality: conduct thorough code reviews focused on quality, performance, security, and adherence to best practices.
Mentorship & technical leadership: mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing guidance, feedback, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Cross-functional collaboration: work closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful, business-aligned solutions.
Performance optimization: identify performance bottlenecks and drive optimizations across the web application stack to ensure fast, reliable user experiences.
Innovation & best practices: stay current with emerging trends and technologies in web development and introduce innovative solutions to the team.
Qualifications
experience: 7+ years of experience in modern web development.
Strong hands-on experience with angular in large-scale or enterprise environments.
Technical skills: proficiency in javascript, typescript, html5, and css3.
Experience with additional frameworks such as react or vue.js is a plus.
Version control: advanced knowledge of git, including complex branching and release strategies.
Ci/cd: hands-on experience building and maintaining ci/cd pipelines using tools such as jenkins, circleci, or gitlab ci.
Agile methodologies: solid understanding of agile/scrum practices and experience working in distributed, cross-functional teams.
Problem-solving: strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical challenges.
Communication: excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences in a remote environment.
Leadership: proven experience mentoring and leading engineers, promoting collaboration, ownership, customer focus, and a bias for action.
