royal caribbean group’s talent acquisition team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time senior recruiter, reporting to the director, shipboard recruitment.
position summary
the senior marine industry recruiter is responsible for end-to-end recruitment of shipboard marine positions, including specialized, hard-to-fill, and leadership roles. This role is crucial in sourcing, attracting, and hiring top global talent to support marine operations, ensuring alignment with company standards and operational excellence. The senior recruiter provides expertise on global labor markets, pipeline development, and sourcing strategies, working closely with leadership to meet staffing needs effectively and sustainably.
essential duties and responsibilities
1. strategic recruitment leadership:
o manage full-cycle recruitment for assigned shipboard roles, including senior, technical, and niche positions.
o collaborate with hiring managers and operational leaders to define role requirements.
o provide data-driven insights on labor markets, talent pipelines, and sourcing effectiveness.
o develop proactive talent strategies to meet current and future needs.
2. talent sourcing & identification:
o lead sourcing efforts through passive candidate strategies, boolean searches, networks, and direct outreach.
o build and maintain talent pipelines for marine roles and engage industry top talent.
o optimize sourcing for high-volume and difficult-to-fill roles requiring certifications like stcw, solas, mlc.
3. candidate screening & selection:
o conduct competency-based interviews and assessments.
o present qualified candidates to hiring leaders, emphasizing technical and leadership skills.
o assess cultural fit and adaptability to shipboard environments.
o make hiring recommendations and extend offers when authorized.
4. stakeholder collaboration & management:
o act as a trusted talent advisor, providing ongoing consultation on market trends and recruitment strategies.
o facilitate calibration meetings with hiring managers.
o manage recruitment milestones, proactively address challenges, and maintain momentum.
5. process optimization & compliance:
o ensure recruitment activities comply with maritime labor laws and company policies.
o maintain thorough documentation and continuously improve interview and assessment tools.
o manage high-volume hiring, overseeing 200-400 hires per month across a book of 20-60 hires per recruiter.
6. employer branding & candidate experience:
o provide a world-class candidate experience with timely updates and feedback.
o promote the company’s values and shipboard culture.
o participate in recruitment events and initiatives to enhance employer branding.
7. data & continuous improvement:
o use recruitment data and dashboards to monitor metrics and pipeline health.
o recommend process improvements and technology adoption.
o conduct training sessions to promote best practices.

qualifications
* bachelor's degree in hr, business, or equivalent preferred.

* knowledge of marine roles, certifications, and licenses (stcw, solas, mlc).
* experience with competency-based interviewing and high-volume recruitment.
* excellent communication, project management, and data analysis skills.
* proficiency in microsoft office, ats, crms, and data reporting tools.
* fluent in english, both written and spoken.
