Plant manager (confidential search)

The plant manager will be responsible for leading the comprehensive operation of a food manufacturing plant located in querétaro ensuring productive efficiency process quality operational safety and full compliance with key performance indicators in cost service and delivery.

this position requires a strong and disciplined operational leader with extensive experience in industrial environments particularly those involving cooking packaging refrigeration and distribution processes. The plant is currently undergoing a phase of technological modernization and cultural transformation demanding exceptional leadership and change management skills.


operational context

* monthly production volume: approximately 1600 tons of food products.

* main product lines: cream cheese nacho cheese and sliced american cheese.

* organizational structure: around 300 employees across three shifts (monday to saturday).

* key clients: major retail and wholesale accounts including leading supermarket chains and wholesale distributors.

* core processes: cooking packaging refrigeration storage and distribution.

* current transition: the facility is migrating to a new plant equipped with advanced technology requiring adaptation workforce training and consolidation of a renewed operational culture.


main responsibilities

* oversee and manage the daily plant operations ensuring high standards of productivity efficiency safety quality and service.

* coordinate cross-functional areas including production maintenance engineering quality safety internal logistics and human resources.

* monitor and manage key performance indicators (kpis) such as oee scrap rates productivity waste delivery performance costs and safety compliance.

* ensure full compliance with food safety industrial safety and environmental regulations .

* supervise preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all critical equipment ensuring operational availability.

* promote and embed a culture of continuous improvement (tpm lean kaizen) across all operational teams.

* lead employee training development and performance management programs to enhance technical and leadership capabilities.

* manage and support the transition to new facilities or new production lines ensuring smooth start-up and operational stability.

* maintain effective communication and collaboration with corporate functions key customers and local authorities.

* develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize production capacity reduce costs and improve efficiency and profitability.

requirements

* bachelors degree in engineering or related discipline.

* minimum 10 years of manufacturing experience (5 in a leadership position within the food industry).

* proven expertise in plant operations maintenance and continuous improvement.

* strong understanding of haccp gmp iso 22000 or equivalent standards.

* intermediateadvanced english proficiency.

* availability for full-time on-site work in querétaro.

required skills:

bachelors degree in engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Proven experience in continuous improvement process optimization and project management. Certification in lean six sigma or other relevant improvement methodologies is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and guide teams. Proficiency in data analysis tools and project management software. Working conditions: this role may require occasional travel to various company locations or partner organizations. Flexible work hours to accommodate project needs and deadlines. The position may involve occasional extended work hours during critical project phases.
