You're good at your job, clients trust you, creatives respect you, your boss relies on you more than they should. But somewhere between the status updates and the endless approval chains, you've wondered: is this it? It's not. And you know it. What this actually is we're trópica®, a boutique agency at the intersection of digital creative, innovation, and ai. We work with brands like google, mercado libre, coca-cola, l'oréal, and nike across latin america. We're looking for someone who thinks like a strategist, communicates like a leader, and fights for great creative like it's personal. Someone who sees a client brief and immediately asks "what's the real problem here?" The title on linkedin is digital account director because that's what your experience level earns. The title inside trópica® is creative business partner because that's what the role actually is. Why this role is different at most agencies your size, you're a traffic manager with a nicer title. You relay feedback, chase approvals, and protect timelines. Here, you're the strategic center of gravity for your accounts. You sit between a cmo with a business problem and a creative team with the tools to solve it, and you make both sides better. You'll report directly to our ceo. No director above you, no vp layer neither. Just clear ownership, real decisions, and work that matters. This is a small team. That means what you do is visible, valuable, and yours. The work with clients: you're the person they call, not only because you have answers, but also because you ask the right questions. You translate pressure into clarity, ambiguity into briefs, and business goals into creative opportunities. You build relationships that outlast projects. With the creative team: you're not a gatekeeper. You're a collaborator. You push back when a brief is weak, protect the work when clients get nervous, and know the difference between a note that makes the work better and one that just makes someone feel heard. With the business: you spot growth before it's obvious. You see where a client relationship can go deeper, where a new idea could open a new conversation, and where trópica® can add value that nobody asked for yet. With technology: you stay ahead. Ai tools, digital creative platforms, emerging formats — you're not just aware of them, you're actively using them to think differently about what's possible. You, specifically you have 5–7 years in account leadership at a creative agency or digital production company. You know what it means to be accountable for a campaign from brief to live, and to do it with limited resources and high expectations. You're fluent in spanish and english. Portuguese is a plus for the scope of what we do in latam. You've worked on significant brand/retail media campaigns, ideally with clients who have high creative standards and complex stakeholder environments. You know what good looks like, and you won't settle for less. You are: calm when everything is on fire sharp in a room full of senior clients genuinely excited when a creative idea surprises you someone who makes the people around them better, almost without trying you are not: someone who needs a lot of structure to get moving someone who mistakes process for progress someone who manages up more than they manage forward the work itself. Campaigns for some of the most demanding, high-standard global brands in the region. The kind of portfolio pieces that open doors. Real autonomy. You own your accounts. No approval theater. A seat at the table. Direct access to our ceo leadership team and a genuine voice in how the agency evolves. A human schedule. Hybrid, 2 days/week in cdmx. We believe good work comes from people who have a life. Compensation aligned with or above industry benchmarks/experience in full time contractor model (mx). Upside.
