Project logistics manager
* key responsibilities:
develop and execute commercial project cargo strategies to enhance business growth in mexico and the north america region. Collaborate closely with regional sales teams to identify new project opportunities, develop rfqs, and negotiate pricing strategies for break-bulk, heavy-lift, and oog freight management. Engage effectively with clients and prospects to understand their project requirements and provide tailored solutions that meet their needs.
* operations & execution
manage end-to-end project cargo operations, including planning, coordination, and execution. Oversee compliance, documentation, permits, customs, and cargo handling for domestic and international movements. Work closely with csr and support teams to ensure operational excellence and train them as the project volume grows.
* vendor & carrier management
develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, specialized transport providers, crane/lift vendors, and other key suppliers. Negotiate rates and service agreements that are competitive and support margin goals. Monitor market trends, costs, and capacity across the mexico and north america region.
* leadership & growth
work closely with the nam regional project manager and mexico director to define strategy, develop reporting, and track kpis. Mentor and train internal team members (customer service reps) to support future project volume. Help establish processes, sops, and best practices for scalable project logistics execution in mexico.
qualifications:
* 10+ years of experience in project logistics, heavy lift, or oog freight management (commercial and operational)
* experience with cross-border logistics, especially between mexico, the u.s., and canada
* strong understanding of chartering, break-bulk, flat-rack, and permit transport
* proven ability to quote and execute multimodal project shipments
* solid vendor and carrier network within mexico and north america
* strong leadership, planning, and communication skills
* fluency in spanish and english is required
* experience in training or mentoring operational staff is a plus
