Objective:
the role of the it internal auditor is to provide independent assurance that an organization's it risk management, governance and internal control processes are operating effectively.
as an it auditor, you will be in charge of auditing the protection of systems information and controls and verifying that data and systems are not subject to breaches of security faults.
main activities:
* knowledge of it security (including cibersecurity) and infrastructure: this is one of the most important qualifications required to work as an it auditor.
* it risk assessment: this major skill required in a successful it auditor is the ability to properly assess risks and determine which are the most pressing versus those that can be addressed at a later time.
* developing and executing the audit plan for information technology including its budget
* documenting and presenting audit findings to stakeholders and its follow up
* participate in the execution of the audit committee presentation in regards of it issues and other information
* analytical skills: the it auditor should be able to properly analyze various aspects of an organization’s information system.
* written and verbal communication: the it auditor must be able to write detailed reports as well as communicate and collaborate with other employees to find the best courses of action for each issue.
* interpersonal skills: given the wide variety of people an it auditor must speak to on a daily basis, he/she must be able to easily create working relationships and get along well with all types of people and coworkers.
* significantly contribute with the developing and execution of the it internal technology strategy for the internal audit department

candidate profile:
professional degree: systems engineering or bachelor of informatics
6 to 8 years of experience
qualifications: certified information systems auditor (cisa), cobit, itil, cibersecurity
