about the role
the line maintenance technician is responsible for supporting production and ensuring the safety and integrity of equipment.
what you will do
* analyze, diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment related to the installation and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
* perform operating diagnostics and address equipment failures to identify opportunities for preventive, productive or corrective maintenance, including repair of failures.
* uninstall, disarm, dismantle or modify equipment as necessary.
* participate in the development and programming of preventive and predictive maintenance and execute them.
* prepare requisitions of parts and materials that are required.
* verify that equipment and instruments work properly and are properly installed and calibrated.
* comply with the requirements of quality management systems (iatf) and environmental management (iso14000) applicable to your position.
* make changes in machines and equipment necessary for line model changes.
* replenish adhesive materials in applicable equipment or containers, preventing contamination during application.
* participate in the procedure of model changes and release of the first piece, making required revisions and completing the records of the process.
* make changes and adjustments to machinery and equipment to match correct models.
* ensure that mismatches do not cause non‑specification processes or non‑conforming products.
* minimize scrap caused by mismatches.
* perform security guard tasks using hand tools; welding may be required for the machine.
* use the personal protective equipment required for the performance of work.
* other activities assigned by your supervisor and manager.
* provide support related to quality and ehss systems management, objectives, targets and programs.
what you need to be successful
* experience with plc systems.
* experience with high and low voltage systems.
* basic english proficiency.
* basic experience reading electrical and electronic drawings; mechanical, hydraulic.
* experience using hand tools, electrical equipment measurement and electrical theory.
* experience with preventive and predictive maintenance in an industrial setting.
* at least 6 months of experience in an industrial company.
* high school diploma.
