under limited supervision completes the following activities:
• designs and transform user requirements into an application program for a data processing system.
• works on highly complex projects and provides technical direction for junior personnel.
• participates in the total design of major software systems.
• gathers user requirements in order to prepare functional specifications.
• provides technical direction on a) the preparation of functional specifications; b) system test scripts and documentation; c) program and data record specification; and d) test specifications and general documentation.
• coordinates the coding, debugging, documentation and testing of application programs.
• supervises the preparation of system flowcharts and logic programs for existing and proposed application programs.
• may be required to perform other duties as assigned
