position:

the regional commodity leader is the owner of various commodities and the related panel of the suppliers for the north america region. In deep connection with the purchasing team she /he thus focus on continuously improving the financial and industrial performance of her / his perimeter. To this regard he builds and leads multi-functional teams (mft) and conducts her / his actions in a project management mode.

activities:

in partnership with the various global commodity manager, he will develop and implement the purchasing strategies for the latecoere american region consistent with corporate purchasing strategy.

manage the regional panel of suppliers continuously driving up their financial and industrial performance. He will consequently monitor and report on a monthly basis the results, and forecast for the commodity perimeter and will drive the recovery plan when needed.

responsible for the contract management of suppliers in the assigned commodity making sure that all clauses are well executed and that contractual hazards have been addressed early enough to secure the company.

in line with the program managers, support the costing on customers rfis/rfqs and take the full responsibility of costing the bill of material for new businesses which costing is managed from the americas.

concerning programs on which the costing is led from europe, the regional commodity leader will cost focus on the items intended to be sourced from north american suppliers and report the outcome to the european costing buyer.

in both situations the regional commodity leader will focus the costing on the following 4 essentials: cost, reliability, speed, and competitiveness.

regarding new programs developed by the north america team, the regional commodity leader will be in charge to source the bill of material all over the development cycle, and will drive the supplier’s readiness on each of the development phases

regarding new programs developed by the central team, the regional commodity leader will coordinate with the program manager in charge and source all items purchased from american suppliers.

the regional commodity leader will be accountable for the purchasing performance and will coordinate supplier scorecards with supply chain and escalate issues as required.

the regional commodity leader will be in charge of contracting the conditions related to the program and will focus on aligning the supplier’s contract key clauses on the customer’s contract.

requirements

minimum bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering with complementary degree in procurement or business management degree with a complementary degree in supply chain or procurement.

5 or more years of experience in global purchasing within the aerospace or a similar industry.

familiarity with sap erp platform.

familiarity with microsoft outlook, office and product lifecycle management.

spoken and written english proficiency is mandatory for communicating with customers, vendors and other employees.
