Serve as a strategic liaison between the company and the union, proactively managing labor relations within a maquiladora environment. Ensure compliance with mexican labor laws, the collective bargaining agreement (cba), internal policies, and foster a positive and productive work environment.
education:
bachelor’s degree in law, business administration, psychology, industrial relations, or a related field.
experience:
minimum of 5 years in human resources within an industrial or maquiladora environment, with at least 3 years focused on labor relations and direct union interaction.
technical knowledge:
mexican labor law and its practical application.
union relationship management and collective bargaining processes.
conflict resolution and dispute management.
disciplinary and termination procedures.
applicable official mexican standards (noms).
strong communication and negotiation skills.
native spanish. Intermediate to advanced english (preferred).

key responsibilities:
manage the relationship with the union effectively, promoting open dialogue and timely resolution of labor disputes.
actively participate in collective bargaining negotiations, wage reviews, labor agreements, and consultation processes.
provide guidance to leaders and managers on labor issues, current labor legislation, and best practices in labor relations.
assist with labor inspections, external audits, and union reviews.
coordinate internal investigations related to labor misconduct, disciplinary actions, and terminations, ensuring fair and documented processes.
monitor key labor metrics such as employee relations climate, turnover, and absenteeism, and propose corrective or preventive actions.
deliver training to leadership teams on labor relations topics, disciplinary processes, effective communication, and conflict resolution.
ensure compliance with applicable labor regulations (mexican federal labor law, noms, imss, stps, etc.).
document and maintain updated records of labor relations activities, agreements, minutes, and other relevant documentation.
supervise labor relations team
ensures the implementation of hr standards, policies, and processes in his/her area of responsibility.
advises leadership and employees on hr topics, such as benefits and compensation, recruitment, development programs, general services, discipline administration and legal compliance.
is responsible for the attention and coordination of audits such as client and governmental.
lead in conjunction with hr manager initiatives to reduce, improve and control turnover and absenteeism rates.
administrate performance evaluation process for direct associates, including setting rules for the process.
ensure that direct associate files are always complete and update.
support hr manager in job descriptions administration for direct associates, making sure all job descriptions required exist and compile with the business requirements and standards.
