the data engineer will be part of the risk modeling unit providing support to the mexico consumer risk team. The hire will be responsible for establishing data control pipelines. The hire would contribute to building foundational data principles which risk modeling unit is workings towards such as data quality, data security and privacy, data storage and operations, data warehouse, bi, analytics and reporting.
Main responsibilities:
- collaboration in special analytics projects related to risk models.
- ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes for data cleaning, data preparation, data etl and model deployment.
- design of data architecture and re-design of existing frameworks to optimize functionality.
- collaborate with modeling team in the development, implementation and monitoring of risk models. Prepare data for data scientist working in model development or data analysis.
- explore alternative data sources for model development
- effective interaction with other teams involved in the development and implementation of models (model developers, risk infrastructure team, data and final users).
- remaining up-to-date with industry standards and technological advancements that will improve the quality of work
*knowledge and experience*
- bachelor's degree in computer engineering, data engineering, or related field.
- master's degree in a relevant field is a plus
- proven experience as a data engineer, software developer or similar role.
- good programming skills with expertise in sql, sas, python, and scripting
- ability to perform data analysis including writing traditional sql queries in both relational and nosql databases
- proficient in written and spoken english
- bachelor’s/university degree or equivalent experience
