general job description
under general guidance, the employee completes the following tasks:
1. provides efficient and safe delivery and pickup of packages.
2. checks packages to ensure proper labeling, legality of content (including weight and size), proper wrapping, insurance values, and compliance with special requirements for hazardous material shipments.
3. prepares necessary paperwork related to pickup and delivery, such as airway bills, delivery records, and vehicle condition reports, ensuring neatness and accuracy.
4. seeks additional business from current customers; if unsuccessful, passes leads to the sales manager.
5. informs the station operations manager and sales team of changes in customer or competitor efforts.
6. loads company vehicles safely.
7. audits the size and weight of packages and boxes and sorts them accordingly.
8. ensures the use of safety equipment and full compliance with fedex safety policies, procedures, norms, rules, and practices.
9. operates company vehicles safely and performs basic maintenance such as cleaning, washing, and checking tire pressure.
10. supports unloading customer merchandise, whether in bulk or on pallets, including separating, physically validating (quality and quantity), and palletizing when needed.
11. arranges products on racks using forklifts or skids (note: forklift operation is only for certified employees).
12. fulfills physical orders using work tools such as handheld scanners and pcs (wms and/or excel).
13. performs value-added tasks such as product review, kit assembly, labeling, and packaging.
14. performs other duties as assigned.
minimum requirements
education: middle school degree or equivalent preferred. Basic english skills required.
experience: general knowledge of warehouse operations, packaging, and inventories. Experience operating ramp and warehouse equipment is preferred.
skills: ability to lift up to 55 lbs. (25 kg) and maneuver packages weighing up to 150 lbs. (68 kg) with appropriate equipment. Ability to work variable shifts. Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and experience with power and hand tools are preferred. Must pass the basic skills test in reading, map reading, sorting, and math. Skills in accuracy, attention to detail, planning, organizing, problem-solving, and teamwork are essential.
