We are currently seeking an site financial controller, you are the financial voice of the león plant : you own the numbers, you challenge the assumptions behind them, and you turn data into clear, actionable insights for the plant manager and the operational teams.within an international tier-1 automotive group with family ownership, you play a pivotal role in securing the plant's profitability, supporting decisions on costs, productivity and investments, and ensuring full transparency and reliability of the financial information. Plant context the león plant is a key industrial site within the mexico perimeter, supplying major automotive oems with high value-added components, and operating under strict quality, cost and delivery requirements. Working in close cooperation with the regional cfo mexico and your finance peers from the other plant, you contribute to positioning león as a competitive and reliable site in the group's industrial footprint. Main responsibilities 1. Plant controlling and performance management own the full plant p&l, from gross margin down to operating result, ensuring all figures reflect reality and are understood by the local management team. Prepare and analyse monthly results, variances versus budget and forecast, and provide clear explanations (volume, mix, price, cost, productivity, scrap, overheads). Build and maintain detailed dashboards and kpis (conversion cost per unit, labor productivity, material variances, scrap and rework, overhead absorption) and animate regular performance reviews with the plant manager and functional managers. 2. Budgeting, forecasting and cost targets coordinate the annual budget and regular forecasts for the león plant, challenging operational assumptions and ensuring alignment with regional and group targets. Support the plant manager and line managers in defining realistic yet ambitious cost reduction and productivity plans, and track the achievement of these plans over time. Provide early warning on any deviation from targets and propose corrective actions, quantifying their financial impact. 3. Cost accounting and standard costs manage and update standard costs for products and components manufactured in león, in cooperation with industrial engineering and operations. Analyse gaps between standard and actual costs (materials, labor, overheads), identify root causes and recommend corrective measures. Ensure accurate allocation of overheads and fixed costs to products, work centers and cost centers, in line with group controlling rules. 4. Industrial and commercial decision support support the assessment of new business opportunities and rfqs impacting the león plant by providing margin simulations, break-even analyses and sensitivity analyses. Contribute to make-or-buy decisions, localization options and transfers of production, evaluating their financial consequences on the plant. Work closely with supply chain and purchasing to assess the financial impact of logistics schemes, supplier changes and stock policies. 5. Investment and capex follow-up (at plant level) support the regional cfo and the plant manager in building business cases for plant-level capex (machines, tools, automation, layout changes), providing cost and payback estimates. Ensure proper tracking of capex spending, capitalization and depreciation at plant level, and monitor the realization of expected savings and productivity gains. Participate in post-implementation reviews to compare actual results with initial business cases and to feed continuous improvement of investment decisions. 6. Reporting, compliance and internal control guarantee the quality and timeliness of all plant-related financial data feeding the regional and group reporting (monthly closing, flash reports, kpis). Coordinate with the regional accounting and shared services teams to ensure proper booking of accruals, provisions, inventory valuation and fixed assets for the león site. Contribute to internal control at plant level: application of procedures, segregation of duties, correctness of cycle counts and stock reconciliations, and support for audits. 7. Business partner to the plant act as a close sparring partner to the plant manager, production, maintenance, quality, supply chain and hr, explaining financial impacts in operational terms and helping them to prioritise actions. Be present on the shopfloor to understand processes, constraints and improvement opportunities, and to make finance tangible and meaningful for non-financial stakeholders. Promote a culture of cost awareness and performance mindset across the plant, through regular communication, simple tools and accessible explanations.reporting line functionally reports to the regional cfo mexico. Operationally reports to the plant manager of the león site.required qualifications and experience university degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field; a professional qualification (cpa, cma or similar) is a plus. 5–8+ years of experience in controlling or plant controlling in an industrial environment, ideally in automotive or another high-demand manufacturing sector. Strong knowledge of cost accounting, variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting, with proven ability to translate operational data into financial insights. Experience with erp systems and controlling/reporting tools; comfortable working with large data sets and building clear, reliable analyses. Good understanding of basic accounting principles and internal control; experience with monthly closings at plant level is an advantage.skills and personal attributes strong analytical skills combined with a pragmatic, hands-on approach. High level of ownership and reliability; ability to work under time pressure at month-end and during budget cycles. Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex financial topics in a simple, operational language. Team player with the ability to build trustful relationships with plant teams, regional finance and group stakeholders. Fluent in english; spanish strongly preferred for interaction with local teams.
