position summary:
the head golf professional will oversee the performance of all golf operations. this position is designed to ensure the success of the facility by meeting and exceeding the standards set by the ownership and executive management. the head golf professional will manage all areas and lead the staff in the productive operations of the club, set the example of approved associate conduct, appearance, and attitude, and promote sales and use of the club while both on and off property.
position expectations & responsibilities:
* oversee the management of all golf operations.
* be ultimately responsible for the performance of the golf shop operations and golf services.
* recruit, hire, train and supervise golf department heads including the assistant golf professionals, member services assistants, golf shop and retail associates, caddies, and other golf staff.
· coaches, trains, and practices an exceptional member/guest service culture.
· conducts staff meetings to properly train, develop and motivate all staff members.
· councils and disciplines all caddy staff in accordance with the company policy and procedures.
* coordinate and ensure all written correspondence, reporting, newsletters and communications for the golf operations and course maintenance.
* coordinates and plans with the food & beverage manager for all food and beverage needs, course food and beverage needs, banquets, outside events and catering for all golf functions.
* enforce all rules and regulations governing golf course usage.
* oversee an innovative tournament program that services all member/guest segments.
* oversee tournament operations and promote the sale of all facility products and services.
* oversee the golf instruction, clinics, golf schools and golfer development programs for all member/guests needs.
* oversee golf marketing initiatives including all promotional materials, the promotion of new golf memberships, play recruitment, yield management, hotel usage and outside events.
* oversee all operational policies, procedures, controls, and fee structures to ensure the safekeeping of assets, inventory, and resources.
* maintain and promote a superlative professional image with the community
* ensure outstanding guest satisfaction and profitability of the facility.
* protect company assets and enforce golf course policies.
* maintain human resource and payroll functions.
* conduct weekly supervisor meetings and monthly staff meetings.
* responsible to oversee the day-to-day operations of the golf shop staff, and the execution of all policies and procedures instituted by the golf director
* effectively schedule golf shop personnel and monitor the manpower needs of all departments.
* responsible for all merchandising practices, including retail offerings and selection, pricing, receiving, and conducting monthly inventories.
* display efficient time management, adaptability to spontaneous events.
requirements:
qualifications
• experience in golf operations and private club environments
•+5 years of experience in a similar role
• pga credentials required
• bachelor’s degree in business administration, sports management, hospitality, or a related field.
• bilingual (english/spanish) preferred
