note: job summary and mission: this job contributes to starbucks success by leading a team of store partners to create and maintain the starbucks experience for our customers and partners. The store lead regularly and customarily exercises discretion in managing the overall operation of the store, including staffing, customer satisfaction, product quality, financial performance, and safety and security. The incumbent models and acts in accordance with starbucks guiding principles.


responsibilities

* leadership – set goals for the work group, develop organizational capability, and model collaboration. Promote the culture, values, and mission of tata starbucks; drive program implementation; plan, delegate, and supervise store partners to ensure smooth operations; uphold a customer-first service standard.
* planning and execution – develop strategic and operational plans, manage execution, and measure results. Communicate clearly with the store team, plan staffing needs, and ensure smooth operation during high volume or unusual events.
* business requirements – provide functional expertise and manage financial and operational responsibilities. Plan for operational excellence using tools (automated labour scheduling, monthly status report, quarterly business review, cash/inventory management); analyze financials and sales trends to maximize profits; manage external resources and stay aware of market trends.
* customer and community focus – identify current and future customer needs, solicit feedback, and research local markets to align with community needs.
* stock and merchandising – ensure availability of merchandise and services, manage stock levels, contracts, and inventory; maintain quality, customer service, and safety standards.
* partner development & team building – coach and develop partners, conduct performance assessments, set goals, and recognize achievements; build a positive, respectful team environment; ensure legal and operational compliance; share coffee knowledge and foster a culture of appreciation.
* interviewing, training, and performance management – hire, train, assign work, conduct goal setting, appraisals, and regular store meetings; address complaints and resolve problems.


qualifications and experience

* summary of experience: progressive responsibility in a retail or restaurant environment – 3 years; experience in analyzing financial reports and supervision – 1 year.


required knowledge, skills and abilities

* strong operational skills for a customer-service environment; ability to manage multiple situations in a fast-paced setting.
* effective communication and interpersonal skills; capable of managing resources to meet service levels.
* knowledge of customer service techniques, supervisory practices, and procedures; strong organization, planning, prioritization, problem solving, and team-building abilities with leadership capacity.
