*the position*
as a senior accountant you will serve as the go-to person for complex technical accounting issues and be responsible for preparing entries for month end, reconciling account balances, assisting with sarbanes-oxley act controls/evaluations/verifications, supporting audit requests, and performing audit testing. As a senior accountant you will support the development of quarterly and annual corporate/divisional/functional reports, sec reporting, and u.s. census reporting.
*main responsibilities*:
- reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- gather financial and statistical data (including headcount, utilities, and inventory volume) to support u.s. census development.
- leading cost management initiatives, developing cost-saving strategies
- perform month-end close activities by pulling information from jd edwards accounting system to compile data and prepare journal entries.
- comply with sox controls and gaap to ensure a solid internal control environment.
- develop quarterly and annual corporate/divisional/functional reports and sec reports.
- interact with internal and external audit groups as necessary to explain and provide evidence of process steps and controls.
*what you need to succeed*:
- bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required.
- 5 years of accounting experience, with a strong knowledge of inventory and cost is required.
- strong knowledgebase in general accounting concepts and methodologies (gaap, sox, financial publications/pronouncements etc.)
- advanced level of english written and oral is required.
- availability to travel with a valid visa is required.
- must be detail-oriented with great organizational skills to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- strong analytical skills with expertise in leveraging microsoft excel and erp system (jd edwards, hyperios, das or sap).
