Qualifications
* minimum 5 years of engineering experience in cable manufacturing, specifically in one or more of the following areas: coaxial cable manufacturing, fiber optic cable manufacturing, extrusion processes, continuous welding, tig welding and radio frequency (rf) applications
* ability to read, write, speak and understand english
* proficient written and verbal communication skills
responsibilities
* process engineer will leverage engineering principles, processes, and methods to produce products that meet customer requirements in a cost-effective manner
* this role is pivotal in resolving technical challenges and troubleshooting process issues in production
* the engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and enhancing processes that are capable and in control, utilizing statistical tools to ensure quality and efficiency
* in this position, process engineer will support all aspects of manufacturing including localization efforts, equipment procurement and cost savings projects
* this includes performing necessary calculations and selecting appropriate tooling for specific applications
* the engineer will create, modify, and maintain manufacturing procedures and setup sheets, troubleshoot process issues, and provide training to manufacturing personnel on relevant processes, procedures, and equipment
* additionally, the engineer will develop and maintain preventative maintenance requirements for equipment, collect and analyze data to minimize process and product variation
* the engineer will also assist in implementing corrective actions for customer returns and direct engineering technicians to ensure successful project completion
* safety is a priority, and the engineer will be expected to adhere to safety rules and promote plant safety initiatives
* create, modify, and maintain manufacturing procedures and setup sheets
* provide training on processes/procedures/equipment to manufacturing personnel
* collect and analyze data to reduce process/product variation
* support process failure modes and effects analysis (pfmea) for processes
* support corrective action implementation for customer returns
* direct engineering technicians for successful completion of assigned projects
