Overview
The Network Engineer I is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the corporate data and voice network and ensuring the highest level of availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Configuration, deployment, testing, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of voice and data network components across an enterprise WAN
- Design and implement data and voice network architecture in a secure and cost effective manner
- Work closely with voice and data communications vendors to resolve network-related connectivity issues
- Support the company’s voice communications platforms
- Work with peers to complete team projects while maintaining customer service
- Planning and coordination of network changes for office moves/consolidations and new office openings
- Planning and provisioning of voice and data communications infrastructure including routers, switches, voice gateways, cabling, circuits, and wireless technologies
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field
- 2+ years of IT work experience in network environments performing network engineering, design, planning, implementation, administration and support
- Good English Communications skills.
- Knowledge of voice communications systems including experience with Avaya, Microsoft Teams, Ring Central, and Intelepeer
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Able to communicate well with users and vendors, as well as other members of the team and department
- Able to mentor members of the IT Service Desk, and willing to assist in a support role when necessary
