Overview
the tax supervisor leads the company’s tax function, ensuring compliance with mexican tax regulations, managing tax risks, and supporting practical tax planning aligned with business operations.
responsibilities
* tax compliance leadership
o oversee preparation and filing of all federal and local tax returns (isr, vat, withholdings).
o ensure timely tax payments and full compliance with statutory obligations.
o review and approve tax filings prepared by the team.
* tax accounting & reporting
o ensure accurate tax accounting, including current taxes and deferred tax positions.
o review reconciliations of tax accounts (vat, isr, withholdings).
o support reporting aligned with corporate requirements (us gaap basis where applicable).
* tax strategy & cash flow focus
o monitor tax impact on cash flow, including vat recoveries and provisional payments.
o support tax planning aligned with operational reality (purchases, inventory, intercompany).
o identify risks and propose practical mitigation actions.
* audit & authority management
o lead tax audits and requirements from sat, imss, infonavit.
o coordinate responses and documentation for audits (internal and external).
o act as main contact with external auditors (kpmg/ey) for tax‑related matters.
* transfer pricing & intercompany
o ensure compliance with transfer pricing requirements.
o support apa processes and intercompany transaction reviews.
o monitor tax implications of intercompany operations.
qualifications
* bachelor’s degree in accounting (cpa preferred).
* 5–8 years of experience in tax (big 4 is a plus).
* strong knowledge of mexican tax laws (isr, vat, cff).
* experience with tax audits and dealing with authorities.
* experience with transfer pricing and intercompany operations (preferred).
* erp systems experience (sap, oracle, contpaqi, etc.).
* advanced excel skills.
* english: intermediate (desirable, not mandatory).
