I am cyrille, an executive consultant, with over 20 years of experience in executive recruitment and consulting for top-tier companies. We are currently seeking an regional cfo mexico – tier‐1 automotive supplier – 2 plants – based in querétaro

you are looking for a cfo position where finance goes far beyond statutory reporting and becomes a decisive lever for strategic choices, industrial transformation and profitable growth across a full country perimeter.

as regional cfo mexico for a global tier‐1 automotive supplier with a strong family ownership, you will take full end‐to‐end responsibility for a perimeter above 120 musd, covering two key manufacturing plants, and you will sit right at the intersection of operations, commercial decisions and group expectations.

our client is a leading international automotive equipment manufacturer supplying major global oems with high value‐added components and systems.the group combines the stability and long‐term vision of a family‐owned business with the industrial footprint and technical complexity of a global tier‐1, operating multiple plants across several regions.in mexico, the company operates two strategically located plants, including a major facility in querétaro, integrated into the global supply chain and exposed to demanding programs in terms of quality, cost and delivery.

regional finance leadership at the heart of the businessas regional cfo mexico, you have full p&l and balance‐sheet ownership for the mexican perimeter, and you are accountable for the integrity, timeliness and relevance of all financial information used by local management and by the group.you act as a true business partner to the mexico ceo, the plant managers and the commercial teams, challenging business assumptions, structuring decision‐making processes and translating operational realities into robust financial plans.

you lead the finance organization for the region (accounting, controlling, treasury, tax, internal control) and you structure a shared service set‐up that supports both plants with standardized, efficient and digitally‐enabled processes.

financial planning & analysis (fp&a)own the full planning cycle for the mexican perimeter: annual budget, quarterly forecasts, strategic plan, and regular re‐forecasting based on volumes, mix and price evolution.build and maintain robust financial models to support pricing decisions, make‐or‐buy analyses, footprint options and investment scenarios (npvs, irr, payback).

costing, margin management and industrial performanceoversee product and project costing methodologies (standard cost, activity‐based costing where relevant), ensuring accurate allocation of direct and indirect costs.challenge production and logistics costs, scrap, rework, overtime and productivity assumptions in close interaction with industrial engineering, operations and supply chain.monitor plant performance through a coherent kpi framework (oee, conversion cost per unit, labor productivity, material variance, overhead absorption) and drive corrective action plans with the operational teams.

controlling and management reportingdesign and enforce a management reporting framework that provides timely, relevant and reliable insights to local and group stakeholders (monthly management accounts, dashboards, variance analyses, cash reports).structure standard monthly performance reviews with plant managers and functional leaders, combining financial data with operational indicators to support fact‐based discussions and decision‐making.ensure full alignment of local reporting with group definitions (chart of accounts, cost centers, kpis, transfer pricing, internal margin policies).

accounting, compliance and internal controlsupervise all accounting activities for the mexican entities (general ledger, fixed assets, intercompany, inventory valuation), in compliance with local gaap, tax rules and group accounting standards (ifrs or equivalent).manage statutory audits, tax inspections and all external reporting obligations, acting as the main interface with auditors, tax advisors and authorities.strengthen internal control across both plants: risk mapping, definition and testing of key controls, segregation of duties, policies and procedures, remediation plans where needed.

treasury, cash management and financingoptimize working capital (inventories, receivables, payables) in cooperation with operations, procurement and customer service, while safeguarding supply continuity and customer satisfaction.monitor daily cash position, short‐term forecasts and structural cash needs for the mexican perimeter; propose and implement actions to secure liquidity and reduce financing costs.manage relationships with local banks within the group framework, and support the group treasury team on guarantees, credit lines and foreign exchange exposure affecting mexican operations.

shared service centre / regional finance platformdesign, structure and lead a finance shared service platform for mexico, servicing both plants for transactional activities (ap, ar, gl, fixed assets) and selected reporting tasks.define and implement standard processes, service level agreements and performance indicators for the shared service scope, ensuring high quality, reliability and responsiveness.drive digitalization of finance processes (erp optimization, automation of reconciliations, e‐invoicing, workflow tools, dashboards) to reduce manual work and increase value‐added analysis time.

support and challenge capex proposals (new lines, automation, tooling, buildings) with robust business cases, including scenario analysis and post‐investment reviews.provide financial leadership on major transformation projects: footprint changes, localization of components, insourcing/outsourcing decisions, productivity roadmaps, restructuring where necessary.

you are able to articulate a clear, fact‐based narrative on the performance, risks and opportunities of the mexico perimeter, turning complex data into understandable messages for non‐financial stakeholders.you participate in group‐level finance forums, contribute to the evolution of methods, tools and standards, and position mexico as a reliable, transparent and high‐performing region within the global network.

you lead and develop the local finance teams across both plants and the shared service set‐up, setting high standards in terms of accuracy, rigor, ethics and service orientation.you build a culture where finance is seen as an accessible, solution‐oriented partner for operations, engineering and commercial functions, not as a remote control function.you invest in talent development (training, coaching, succession planning) and ensure the organization can support future growth, increased complexity and potential additional sites in the region.

solid track record (10–15+ years) in finance within an industrial environment, ideally in the automotive tier‐1 space, with experience on multi‐plant and multi‐customer perimeters.strong technical background in controlling, costing, plant controlling and fp&a, with the ability to challenge operational assumptions and to translate them into financial impact.proven experience in building or leading a finance shared service or centralized finance organization, including process standardization, erp usage and continuous improvement.excellent command of ifrs or equivalent group standards, local mexican accounting and tax rules, and internal control frameworks.fluent english, german is a must, spanish is a strong asset to interact closely with plant teams and local stakeholders.
