Business development director role

this key position is responsible for driving commercial expansion in the logistics sector.

the successful candidate will lead the development of strategic growth plans, identify new business opportunities, and build strong relationships with key clients and decision-makers.


main responsibilities:

* develop and implement effective strategies to attract new clients across transportation, warehousing, and distribution sectors.
* assess and evaluate opportunities in new segments, industries, or geographic regions to drive growth.
* lead the creation of commercial proposals, quotations, and executive presentations to support sales efforts.
* maintain close collaboration with internal departments to ensure proposed solutions are feasible and of high quality.
* monitor market trends, competitors, and regulatory changes to stay ahead.
* meet and exceed sales targets, margin goals, and profitability objectives.
* represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and logistics associations.


critical relationships:

this role involves close collaboration with general management, sales, operations, finance, marketing, legal, and it teams to ensure strategic alignment. Externally, it requires managing relationships with current and prospective clients, business partners, logistics service providers, and industry associations.


requirements:

* bachelor's degree in business administration, international trade, logistics, engineering, or a related field (mba preferred).
* advanced english language skills, both written and spoken.
* minimum 7–10 years of experience in business development within the logistics sector.
* strong knowledge of supply chain operations, including ground, ocean, air transportation, warehousing, and customs.
* proven experience negotiating high-value contracts and managing complex sales cycles.
* excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
* strategic thinking, results-driven approach, and client focus.
