Job Description
- Oversee and communicate all cash flow matters, including timely preparation of cash flow reports, management of receivables/payables, and proper fund deposits.
- Ensure accurate recording and reporting of revenues and expenses in compliance with hotel standards.
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Direct the production and accuracy of daily and monthly financial reports.
- Analyze financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to meet financial goals.
- Monitor capital planning and ROI for improvements, including bid process oversight and scope evaluation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, tax regulations, licenses, permits, contracts, and legal obligations.
- Supervise and develop the Finance team, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback.
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Committee to align financial goals with operational performance.
- Support a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and lateral service in line with hospitality standards.
Qualifications
- College Degree in Business, Hospitality, Accounting/Finance or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive Finance/Accounting management experience in a full service property, all inclusive, or luxury resort
- Ability to create, implement and monitor hotel and staff goals, strategies and policies
- Ability to be resourceful, creative and maintain flexibility
- Ability to train, motivate, evaluate, mentor and direct employees and managers to meet desired ends
- Ability to maintain excellent relations with staff and maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times
- Open to feedback and ability to make appropriate changes as needed
- Proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation with a proven track record of living the company's values
- A proficient understanding of Computer systems such as: Opera, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Ability to spend extended lengths of time viewing a computer screen
- Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor
- Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high level attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork
- Must be able observant and quick to respond to various situations while also multitasking and handling stressful situations
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of local laws, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations
