key responsibilities:
* develops and implements strategic operational plans for excellence, efficiency, and profitability.
* leads multidisciplinary teams across production, engineering, logistics, maintenance, and quality.
* drives continuous improvement initiatives focusing on lean and six sigma principles.
* establishes and monitors kpis to ensure alignment with corporate objectives and customer satisfaction.
* ensures compliance with environmental, safety, and quality standards.
* manages financial planning, cost-control initiatives to meet or exceed targets.
* strengthen relationships with suppliers, clients, and regulatory bodies to reinforce plant reputation and sustainability.
* fosters a high-performance culture emphasizing talent development, accountability, and collaboration.
candidate requirements:
* education: bachelor's degree in engineering (industrial, chemical engineering, or related field).
* experience: minimum 10 years in leadership roles within large-scale manufacturing operations. Ideal candidate will have at least 2 years' experience in production supervision, 2 years in plant management, 2 years in production planning, and 2 years in supply chain. 5+ years as general manager, plant director, sr. Plant manager or similar role is required.
* technical knowledge: manufacturing processes, supply chain and logistics, procurement, strategic planning, production management, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
* financial knowledge: costs, cost control, budgeting, and p&l management. Good business acumen.
* other: familiarity with safety, workplace rules and regulations, customs regulations, capex, and risk assessment.
* unions: experience with unions, collective bargaining agreements, negotiations.
* leadership competencies: visionary leadership, strategic thinking, analytical skills, decision-making ability, effective communication, and proven success in building and developing high-performing teams.
* fluent in english and spanish.
