Job Description

GBM’s mission is to democratize investments in Latin America. As we continue to pursue this mission, we are looking for an experienced, innovative, and detail-oriented Engineering Manager to be responsible for leading B2B teams. These teams design and deliver next-generation solutions for some of the most strategic and high-growth digital products within the company. GBM builds technologies that empower individuals and businesses to access advanced trading platforms and a broad range of financial products that meet both everyday and long-term needs.

In a typical week you will

- Build and nurture a high-performing, positive team culture where learning, growth, and curiosity drive results.

- Inspire and grow technical leadership within the team, sparking innovation and enabling flawless execution.
- Mentor future leaders within the team, cultivating talent capable of driving initiatives independently and collaborating effectively with cross-functional peers.
- Focus the team on the right priorities—making the tough calls to stop projects that aren’t delivering value and championing those that are strategically important.
- Drive continuous improvement across key code health and reliability metrics (e.g. service levels, releases, test coverage, rollbacks).
- Strengthen cross-functional alignment by partnering closely with Product Management, TPMs, and Design to ensure clarity of goals, tradeoffs, and shared accountability for outcomes.
- Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, communicating complex ideas clearly and building trust across the organization.
- Translate business strategy into technical direction, helping the team understand not only the “what” but also the “why” behind priorities.
- Champion customer-centric thinking, ensuring that engineering decisions balance scalability, usability, and long-term product vision.

Requisites:

- 5+ years of experience in software development with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C#, Java).
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services or equivalent cloud providers.
- 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing strategic projects.
- 2+ years of experience in people management, including supervision and team leadership.
- Software development (Python, C#, Java, or equivalent)
- Software architecture & design patterns
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) – 2+ years hands-on with AWS services
- DevOps practices & CI/CD pipelines
- Agile development methodologies
- Technical project management (complexity, scope, time management, delivery)
- Observability & reliability (monitoring, logging, SRE practices)
- Security by design & secure coding practices
- Data & analytics (data pipelines, BI, ML/AI awareness)
- Budgeting & resource management
- Vendor & stakeholder management
- Compliance & regulatory awareness (e.g., FinTech, payments, healthcare)
- Quantitative & analytical skills (program tracking and successful execution)
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills

- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Technical credibility, able to earn respect through expertise and prior career achievements
