Purpose statement: the director of supply chain excellence oversees the entire supply chain operation, ensuring processes align with strategic objectives and uphold quality management standards. This position leads in designing supplier quality performance metrics, inclusive of toolsets, key indicators, and business processes. Key goals include minimizing costs associated with subpar supplier quality and directing global/regional/site-level teams to allocate resources effectively and maintain governance.
key job responsibilities:
* the director of supply chain excellence owns the supply chain strategy, implementing it to add value while maintaining compliance with plexus quality management system (qms).
* takes ownership of qms aspects leading a team responsible for supplier quality processes and tools across multiple highly regulated industries using risk-based approaches. Additionally, this role oversees receiving inspection processes and software systems managing supplier quality, inspections, and non-conforming material management supporting all sites. Ownership involves developing key process indicators and metrics to measure compliance and drive operational rigor throughout the supplier quality function.
* directs the counterfeit controls and mitigation program, including policy, processes, and templates used to maximize authentic materials, detect suspect materials entering the supply chain, and adhere to industry standards.
* ensures that their team exemplifies and holds employees accountable to demonstrating plexus core values. The leader focuses on evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and providing development and coaching to realize full employee potential.
qualifications and requirements:
* masters degree and 10-14 years of experience in related field. Previous management experience may have been in a director role.
* a combination of education, experience, and time in field will be taken into consideration, and internal candidates may have distinct requirements tailored to demonstrated skills and contributions within the organization.

* strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact, influence, and build consensus with senior-level decision makers.
* must have strong presentation skills and ability to represent the organization professionally.

work environment and travel:
* professional office setting with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and low noise level. May require prolonged sitting periods using computer and office equipment. Minimal physical activity is generally involved, emphasizing importance of good posture and ergonomic arrangements.
