we have an immediate need for an oss developer. This hybrid position will be based in ciudad juarez, or mexico city, mexico.
the role:
we are looking for an oss developer to join our oss and engineering team. This role is central to designing, developing, and maintaining the operations support systems () that power our telecom network. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in both front-end and back-end technologies used in the telecom environment, with a strong focus on automation, configuration management, monitoring, observability, and configuration auditing. Experience with emerging technologies such as machine learning (ml) and artificial intelligence (ai) to drive intelligent operations is highly valued.
the responsibilities:
* design and develop automation workflows for network provisioning, configuration deployment, and service activation across multi-vendor environments (juniper, arista, ciena, cisco). Build and maintain ci/cd pipelines for network configuration changes using tools such as ansible, nornir, or custom python frameworks.
* develop and maintain configuration management tools and databases (cmdb) to ensure accurate, version-controlled records of network device configurations. Implement automated configuration compliance and audit systems that detect drift, enforce standards, and generate remediation reports.
* build and enhance real-time monitoring and observability platforms using tools such as grafana, prometheus, opentelemetry, clickhouse, and the elk stack. Implement telemetry collection via snmp, grpc/gnmi, kafka, streaming telemetry, and rest apis to provide comprehensive visibility into network health, performance, and fault management.
* design and develop intuitive web-based interfaces, dashboards, and self-service portals for noc operators, network engineers, and business stakeholders using modern frameworks (react, vue.js, angular) integrated with real-time data feeds.
* architect and build robust back-end services, restful apis, and microservices that integrate oss/bss platforms, inventory systems, ticketing systems, and network controllers (sdn/nfv). Work with databases including postgresql, clickhouse, and time-series databases for telemetry storage and analytics.
* integrate and maintain oss/bss systems including inventory management, service order management, trouble ticketing, and network resource management platforms. Ensure seamless data flow between crm, inventory systems and custom-built tools.
* design intelligent alerting mechanisms and automated incident response workflows using monitoring platforms and apis to proactively detect, classify, and respond to incidents or performance degradation.
* leverage machine learning and ai techniques to implement predictive analytics, anomaly detection, root cause analysis, intelligent capacity planning, and automated remediation. Develop data models and pipelines that feed ml systems for continuous improvement of network operations.
* work closely with network engineering, noc teams, data engineering, and business stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize development efforts, and ensure alignment with operational and business goals.
the requirements:
* bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, telecommunications engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
* +5 years of experience in telecommunications, engineering, or similar.
* strong proficiency in python, javascript/typescript, and at least one additional language (go, java, or rust). Experience writing production-quality, well-documented, testable code.
* solid experience with modern front-end frameworks such as react, vue.js, or angular, along with html5, css3, and data visualization libraries (d3.js, plotly, grafana panels).
* strong experience building restful apis, microservices architectures, and event-driven systems. Familiarity with frameworks such as fastapi, flask, django, or node.js/express.
* proficiency with relational databases (postgresql, mysql), analytical databases (clickhouse), and time-series databases (influxdb, timescaledb). Experience with data modeling and query optimization.
* hands‑on experience with network automation tools (ansible, nornir, napalm, netmiko) and configuration management practices in multi‑vendor telecom environments.
* experience with git, docker, kubernetes, and ci/cd pipelines (github actions, gitlab ci, jenkins) for infrastructure and application deployment.
* hands‑on experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as grafana, prometheus, opentelemetry, clickhouse, elk stack, or similar.
* familiarity with telemetry protocols including snmp, grpc/gnmi, streaming telemetry, and syslog for real‑time data collection from network infrastructure.
* experience integrating and maintaining network monitoring systems.
* strong understanding of telecom network architectures, including mpls, isis/ospf, bgp, dwdm/optical transport, sdn, and nfv.
* experience with oss/bss systems and their integration patterns in carrier/wholesale and enterprise service provider environments.
* familiarity with telecom standards, service order lifecycles, inventory management, and fault/performance management frameworks (fcaps).
* experience with ml frameworks (scikit‑learn, tensorflow, pytorch) and their application to operational data for anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, and intelligent automation.
* understanding of aiops concepts and their practical implementation in telecom/network operations contexts.
* experience building data pipelines that feed ml models, including feature engineering, model training, and deployment (mlops).
* strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
* excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
* ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
* self‑driven with a passion for continuous learning and staying current with emerging telecom and software technologies.
* fully bilingual (english and spanish).
