Sap sd consultant
position summary
we are seeking an experienced sap sd consultant with strong expertise in sales and distribution, electronic invoicing, edi/output processing, and pricing configuration/troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across functional and technical areas, supporting business requirements, driving high-risk changes, maintaining master data, and collaborating with middleware vendors such as edicom .
this role requires hands-on knowledge of sap sd processes, integration with external systems/middleware, issue analysis, and the ability to work closely with business users, developers, and cross-functional teams.
key responsibilities
* analyze, design, configure, and support sap sd business processes.
* work on electronic invoicing solutions and support communication between sap and middleware platforms, ideally with edicom experience.
* understand and support how the sap system communicates with middleware for outbound/inbound document processing.
* configure and troubleshoot edi/output processes in sap, including examples such as asn / 856 .
* explain and support how edi outputs work in sap, including setup, message/output configuration, and integration flow.
* configure and support sap pricing in sales orders and related sd documents.
* troubleshoot pricing issues when a condition type or price is not being applied in a sales order.
* analyze issues in the pricing analysis tab, including scenarios where access entries appear in red.
* investigate common pricing root causes such as:
* incorrect or missing access sequence
* condition records not found
* required routine not fulfilled
* missing master data or incorrect document configuration
* participate in and support high-risk changes, following a structured and controlled approach.
* contribute during the requirements gathering phase, ensuring business needs are translated into functional solutions.
* support material master maintenance related to sd processes.
* help define or troubleshoot controls to block specific units of measure in sales order processing for end users.
* work closely with abap teams and be comfortable with debugging support .
* analyze custom or standard error messages and identify where the customer-specific message is triggered in the system.
* collaborate with business stakeholders, middleware vendors, developers, and support teams to resolve incidents and implement enhancements.
* prepare functional specifications, test scenarios, and support documentation as needed.
required qualifications
* proven experience as an sap sd consultant .
* strong hands-on knowledge of sap sd configuration and support .
* experience with electronic invoicing and sap integration with middleware.
* practical experience with edi/output processing in sap.
* understanding of edi message flows, including outbound processing such as 856 .
* strong knowledge of sap pricing, including condition technique, condition tables, access sequences, pricing procedures, and condition records.
* experience troubleshooting pricing issues in sales orders, including use of the pricing analysis screen.
* experience supporting high-risk changes and working through requirements gathering .
* knowledge of material master maintenance relevant to sd.
* ability to support or design controls around unit of measure restrictions in order processing.
* comfortable working with abap debugging and collaborating on technical issue analysis.
* strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
preferred qualifications
* experience working with edicom as middleware/vendor for electronic invoicing or edi integrations.
* experience identifying custom developments and tracing custom error messages in sap.
* exposure to integration points with other sap modules.
* experience in production support, enhancements, and change management processes.
nice to have
* experience in global or regional e-invoicing compliance .
* knowledge of output determination, idocs, and middleware monitoring.
* experience with functional specifications, testing, and deployment support.
* ability to bridge functional and technical discussions with business and development teams.
