Materials planning supervisor
we are seeking a skilled procurement professional to lead our materials planning efforts, ensuring timely receipt of best price analysis and adherence to forecast requirements.
key responsibilities include collaborating with vendors on tooling qualification, ensuring compliance with the johnson controls product development process, and negotiating favorable contracts for raw materials.
to succeed in this role, you will need to:
* utilize design engineering documentation to procure all required materials for sample, prototype, or pilot runs;
* work closely with senior buyers and strategic procurement to resolve procurement issues and optimize material availability;
* establish new components in the mrp/erp system and link them to the preferred vendor after receiving production quotes from strategic procurement;
* maintain accurate spreadsheets tracking material availability and adjust as necessary in response to ecs issued during the release period.
requirements:
* proven experience in materials planning, procurement, and supply chain management;
* strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to negotiate effectively with vendors;
* excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work cross-functionally to achieve business objectives;
* familiarity with mrp/erp systems and relevant software applications.
