A Demand Planner Analyst at MIDEA plays a crucial role in forecasting product demand based on various factors such as historical data, market trends, and promotional activities. They analyze sales patterns, inventory levels, and market conditions to predict future demand accurately. This role involves collaborating closely with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize stockouts or overstocks. Demand Planner Analysts at MIDEA utilize advanced statistical models and software tools to generate forecasts, monitor performance, and adjust projections as needed to support efficient supply chain operations and meet customer demand effectively.
Responsibilities
- Demand Forecasting: Using statistical models and analysis to forecast product demand accurately across different product categories and regions.
- Data Analysis: Analyzing historical sales data, market trends, and other relevant factors to identify patterns and drivers of demand.
- Collaboration: Working closely with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to gather input, validate assumptions, and align on forecasted demand.
- Inventory Management: Optimizing inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock availability while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs.
- Forecast Accuracy: Monitoring forecast accuracy and adjusting forecasts based on vigente sales data and market changes.
- Promotion and Seasonality: Incorporating promotional activities, seasonality, and other external factors into demand forecasts.
- Reporting: Generating regular reports and dashboards to communicate forecasted demand, inventory levels, and performance metrics to stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements in demand planning methodologies, tools, and systems.
- Risk Management: Assessing and mitigating risks related to demand variability, supply chain disruptions, and market fluctuations.
- Market Analysis: Conducting market research and analysis to understand competitive landscape, consumer behavior, and industry trends that may impact demand.
- Among other duties as assigned.
Experience & Background
- 2+ years of experience in Forecasting, Demand Planning, Production Planning, Supply Chain or similar role.
- Experience in a Logistics and Home appliances industry knowledge
Degree and Language
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
- Intermediate English.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Statistical Analysis and Forecasting Techniques: Proficiency in statistical methods and forecasting models such as regression analysis, time series analysis, and causal forecasting methods.
- Demand Planning Tools and Software: Experience with demand planning software and ERP systems to generate forecasts, analyze data, and manage inventory levels.
- Supply Chain Management: Understanding of supply chain processes including inventory management, procurement, logistics, and distribution to coordinate demand forecasting with supply chain activities.
