Job description
main duties, responsibilities, and expectations
develop the quality strategy and execute the quality plans to meet wnc’s quality goals.
Actively participate in the daily responsibility of responding to and correcting issues that affect production, providing direction to the work team.
Conduct leadership inspections and gemba walks focused on detecting and correcting operational and safety issues that occur within and outside areas of responsibility.
Support and participate in the implementation and deployment of the wnc operating system philosophy and tools, adapting them to standard work methods (5s, visual control, tpm, rapid problem solving, among others).
Manage daily operations of quality control functions: document control, incoming quality control (iqc), and manufacturing quality.
With other technical groups in the company, promote and participate in the implementation of the quality strategy.
In conjunction with other functions, define process controls and systems to ensure product quality in accordance with customer requirements.
The quality manager coordinates the implementation, sustainment, and monitoring of the quality system in compliance with the iso 9001 standard, aimed at achieving operational quality excellence.
Address customer complaints received through various channels: customer quality area, emails, or notifications from sales, marketing, senior executives, or other means. Responsible for assigning resources and coordinating with other departments to receive information, take actions to resolve issues using problem‑solving methodology, and provide the appropriate response.
Act as liaison with external and corporate parties on matters related to the quality system.
Lead and ensure the resources necessary to support external audits by regulatory agencies such as ul, fm, csa, cnpp, etl, vds, as applicable to the products. Ensure that the company complies with all agency requirements.
Be responsible for performance evaluations, professional development, and salary reviews of quality department personnel.
Ensure that departments operate within the approved budget.
Promote cost-reduction initiatives.
Make the necessary decisions for the maintenance and improvement of the quality management system (qms).
Knowledge, education, and experience
professional degree in an industrial field related to manufacturing processes, electronics, or similar.
Preferably hold a master’s degree and black belt certification.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in leadership positions within the quality area, including manufacturing quality, customer quality, and supplier quality in electronic or automotive industries.
Advanced proficiency in the english language, both verbal and written. Proficiency in microsoft tools (word, excel, powerpoint).
Mastery and understanding of iso 9001 regulations.
Knowledge of esd.
Deep knowledge and experience in continuous improvement methodologies and problem-solving tools.
Knowledge in establishing procedures and control and correction mechanisms that allow for effective or immediate actions.
Ability to analyze, understand, and synthesize information by identifying possible causes and effects, anticipating scenarios to analyze alternatives.
Demonstrate judgment to establish priorities within the quality department.
Identify improvement opportunities to change, optimize, and/or develop processes.
