job description:
this position oversees the manufacturing engineering functions, including current process justification and implementation, machines, equipment, tooling, work standards, nc programming, gage planning, and technical troubleshooting to provide the most efficient and economical manufacturing and assembly of quality products.
the incumbent supervises a staff using computer-aided design who provides graphic job instructions, and nc and robotic programs to the machine shop. Facility layout and area allocations, and related regulatory compliance are ensured to optimize equipment and space use in support of changing production requirements.
this role coordinates release dates and availability of machines, equipment, and material schedules to satisfy demand. The effectiveness of equipment and systems is verified, and standards are established to work with shop personnel to resolve problems related to process, tooling, equipment, etc.
the incumbent works jointly with marketing, engineering, and customer services areas on concurrent product and process designs to ensure products and processes are of robust design and support economical production. Project management support for major systems and equipment installations is provided.
required skills and qualifications:
* college degree in an appropriate engineering discipline
* intermediate - advanced english level, written and oral communication skills
* 8+ years of relevant experience in an equivalent field
* analytical ability as well as excellent oral and written communications skills and thorough knowledge concerning the capabilities of both domestic and foreign suppliers
* manufacturing experience
* supervisor experience
* knowledgeable and experienced with project management basics
* negotiation with customers and prioritization skills
