about the role
we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive mid-level accountant with bookkeeping experience to manage accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support day-to-day financial processes. This role combines transaction management, reconciliations, reporting, and problem-solving while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.
key responsibilities
1. Transaction management & bookkeeping
* review, categorize, and reconcile financial transactions
* handle complex or unusual transactions requiring manual review (20% of volume)
* ensure accurate coding and compliance with accounting standards
* maintain accurate books for assigned portfolios
* reconcile monthly books and general ledger accounts
* support month-end and year-end close processes
2. Financial reporting & analysis
* prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and summaries
* analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement
* support budgeting and forecasting processes
* flag and escalate any accounting issues or anomalies
3. Customer & internal communication
* respond to internal or external accounting-related inquiries
* collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve transaction or reporting questions
* provide guidance and support to junior accounting or bookkeeping staff, if applicable
4. Quality assurance & compliance
* review work for accuracy and adherence to accounting standards
* ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
* maintain organized records and proper documentation for audits
qualifications
* prior mid-level accounting experience (typically 2–5 years)
* bookkeeping experience is required
* high english fluency, both written and verbal
* strong knowledge of accounting principles and general ledger processes
* strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
* experience with reconciliations, reporting, and month-end close
* familiarity with accounting software and saas platforms
* customer service or client-facing experience is a plus
* experience with big 4 accounting firms (kpmg, deloitte, ey, pwc) is a plus
tools & software
* quickbooks or other accounting/financial software
* familiarity with financial reporting tools and saas platforms
* experience with support/ticketing systems (e.g., zendesk) is a plus
