What you’ll do
the us buying assistant plays a crucial role in optimizing the coordination of our product portfolio, encompassing bicycles, parts, and accessories, specifically for the us market. This position is fundamental to ensuring the precision and efficiency of our product data, inventory management, and supply chain logistics. By maintaining meticulous records and streamlining processes, the buying assistant directly contributes to the smooth operation of our us sales channels and overall customer satisfaction.
This is a remote position, offering the flexibility of working from mexico, supporting our us-based parts & accessories (p&a) buyer, who oversees the acquisition and management of all p&a products for the us market, and our us category manager, who is strategically based in australia and responsible for the broader category strategy and performance. Other key partners include the merchandising and finance teams, with cross-continental collaboration requiring seamless communication and coordination across different time zones. Responsibilities include, but is not limited to:
product and data management

provide new product skus to be utilized by the merchandising team for shopify.
Upload promotional pricing into shopify upon category managers request.
Maintain and ensure the accuracy of our product database, including customs information like hts codes.
Assist in creating and improving global product creation templates.
Prepare data for monthly and regular cross-checking reports, comparing purchase orders against actual inventory and 3pl stock.
Monthly cost analysis of 3pl by bikes, parts and accessories, and reports regarding stock availability, receiving, shipping and more.

Purchasing and logistics

create purchase orders for bicycles, parts, and accessories.
Assist with product orders, pre-orders, and shipping logistics.
Coordinate the end-to-end iws (inbound warehouse system) process, from order placement to receipt.
Arrange trucking and appointment pick up from port to warehouse.
Troubleshoot inbounding 3pl issues in collaboration with the customer service and inventory coordinator.

Financial and administrative support

verify the accuracy of landed costs and fx rates in our business partner (bp) system.
Ensure all invoices are accurate and correctly entered into bp.
Assist the category manager with data preparation for requesting credit notes from suppliers.
Import and export data for reports and error analysis.

Cross functional collaboration

work closely with the finance, warranty and warehouse teams to resolve any data entry errors in brightpearl that could impact accuracy and efficiency.
Record and update all buying assistant processes and workflows into training documents.
Provide administrative support to the category manager and p&a buyer as needed.

Process improvement & ai utilization

provide feedback on how systems, processes, and products can be continuously improved.
Actively utilize ai tools and applications to streamline daily tasks, such as data entry, report generation, and content drafting, thereby boosting personal productivity and accuracy. Experiment with ai features to discover new methods for completing work more efficiently and effectively within your specific responsibilities.

What you’ll have

no formal qualifications required.


Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a retail or e-commerce environment.
Familiarity with a broad range of bicycle products, parts, and accessories (desirable).
Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., brightpearl) and business management platforms is a plus.


Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Proficiency in data entry and database management.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a remote, international team.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Fluent in english is essential.
