responsibilities
* participate in quality team activities by verifying materials and contributing significantly to the delivery of units that meet quality requirements.
* perform inspections of highly complex product parts, including defect detection, error identification, variation analysis, and initial lot inspections.
* evaluate manufacturing processes and procedures in accordance with collins' quality management systems.
* inspect standards of workmanship and execution.
* interpret and evaluate products, processes, and procedures using schematics, drawings, designs, work instructions, and quality operational procedures to ensure accuracy.
* use measuring devices such as micrometers, gauges, scales, calipers, etc., to verify specifications.
* report defects, errors, and variations; analyze data; maintain accurate inspection records for departmental and company audits.
* determine root causes and implement corrective actions based on trend data for process and product improvements.
* conduct random audits of all processes, procedures, and assembly products.
* record time in sap/fit systems, including time spent on active programs and attendance.
* provide reliable attendance and flexibility to support production plans, including overtime and alternate shifts.
* work safely following collins aerospace's safety and hygiene policies.
* perform additional responsibilities as required.
* initiate continuous improvement activities within the department to enhance processes and products.
essential requirements
* high school diploma or currently enrolled in university with at least 1 year remaining to graduate.
* minimum of 1 year proven experience in a similar role.
* knowledge of measurement tools and equipment, such as vernier calipers.
* ability to interpret and read drawings (in english).
* understanding of geometric tolerances.
* basic to intermediate english skills (able to understand written instructions in english).
* availability to train during the morning shift (6:00 am - 2:48 pm) for the first month and then transition to the second shift (3:10 pm - 11:10 pm).
preferred requirements
* valid visa.
* willingness to travel.
* experience in welding inspection.
* experience in smt inspection.
