bench test engineer – job description
general summary the bench test engineer is responsible for developing, executing, and automating bench‑level test solutions for rf and mixed‑signal hardware. This role involves hands‑on testing, software tool development and the ability to perform rf measurements using professional laboratory equipment.
Key responsibilities
develop and execute bench‑level test plans for rf and mixed‑signal devices. Automate test routines using c# or other programming languages. Perform rf measurements (rf basics). Set up and operate rf test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, vnas, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and power meters. Debug test setups, instrumentation issues, and board‑level rf problems. Develop test scripts, data acquisition routines, and automated analysis tools. Analyze test results and document findings. Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams.
Minimum qualifications
bachelor's degree in electronics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or related field. Experience with rf test methodology and measurement science. Experience with c++, python, or labview is a plus. Hands‑on experience using rf test equipment. Ability to interpret schematics and rf pcb layouts.
Preferred qualifications
0+ years of experience in test development, rf testing, or automation. Experience with instrument control using scpi, visa, or similar protocols. Familiarity with wireless communication standards such as lte, gsm/edge, wcdma, wlan, bluetooth, or gps. Understanding of rf pcb design basics.
