Gaming category manager role
this position plays a pivotal role in shaping the gaming category strategy for xbox consoles in the americas. You will drive innovation, impact billions of lives worldwide and contribute to a multi-billion-dollar business.
you will be responsible for developing and executing regional retail strategies that align with the full ecosystem of devices, services, content and growth areas. This includes working closely with partners in the region and globally to ensure alignment on demand planning and driving efforts to correct errors in response to market dynamics.
the ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, business acumen and the ability to review and manage budgets, market data and deal opportunities. A successful track record in managing and transforming a consumer category while meeting sales and profitability targets is essential.
about the job
* ownership of budgeting process: lead the americas budgeting process for consoles, including partner target tracking, quarterly forecast achievements, monthly business reviews and weekly performance reporting.
* accountability for metrics: drive regional accountability across both retail and direct channels for console metrics, including revenue and inventory management.
* demand planning alignment: collaborate with partners in region and the global category lead to ensure alignment on demand planning.
* americas retail strategy for consoles: create a comprehensive regional retail strategy for consoles that aligns with the full ecosystem of devices, services, content and growth areas. Develop fiscal year priorities to help americas execute marketing plans, strategies and campaigns.
* partner pitch meetings: by leveraging the ww category partner pitch documentation, create regionally compelling partner pitch materials to retail partners.
* market dynamics response: drive efforts to correct errors (coe) in response to market dynamics.
* driving console growth: identify new growth opportunities and prioritize them based on their potential. Collaborate with the ww console category lead to shape strategies for new and strategic sales, including partner selection, onboarding and tracking results, best practices and learnings for future partner rollouts.
* market expansion support: assist in driving market expansion and launching new tests or trials.
* console insights: leverage industry knowledge, channel insights and customer understanding to drive strategic alignment, digital transformation and achieve joint business objectives with partners and ww category.
* voice of the partner: share insights based on in-store and online execution, customer and partner feedback and market/industry trends.
qualifications
required qualifications
* bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 6+ years experience in data science/analytics, finance, project management, supply chain, and/or operations or equivalent experience.
* business level fluency to read, write and speak english.

* mastery of data analytics and scientific methodologies to inform and optimize business decisions.
* experience planning and executing assortment plans, marketing strategies and activities that drive business results.
