Job description
the primary role of this position is to oversee all financial control activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining accurate accounting records.
this includes performing general ledger and period end submissions, as well as overseeing offshore operational accounting team activities.
liaising with inter-company contacts to obtain relevant financial information, coordinating activities with off-shore teams, and working effectively with other entities controllers and the accounting & control teams are also key responsibilities.
required skills and qualifications
professionally qualified accountant with a good academic background and at least 5 years post-qualification experience in the financial services industry.
professional experience within the financial services sector, ability to develop effective working relationships with business partners, and proven ability to bring sound judgement based on expert knowledge of operations and accounting policies are essential.
ability to bring lateral thinking and analytical rigor, structure, and solution to problematic areas, prior experience of working with offshore teams is preferable.
