Director, multinational sales - global transaction banking (gtb)

Purpose multinational banking is a key growth pillar of scotiabank’s refreshed strategy, which entails the delivery of a differentiated and consistent client experience across our footprint, placing the client at the center of our service model, regardless of where they choose to do business. In partnership with corporate banking and various stakeholders across international banking and global transaction banking, the director, mnc sales, will manage relationships at the country/local level and will support global account plans & service delivery in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. The focus for this role is growth of products and services within global transaction banking. Accountabilities build and lead the multinational sales (mnc sales) teams in north america (canada, us, caribbean) by driving subsidiary-level sales of all gtb products (cash management, deposits, card, trade finance and supply chain finance): lead mnc sales teams in the development and management of their local mnc portfolios, ensuring that they are delivering a full suite of transaction products and services to support their clients’ financial needs in the country. Work collaboratively with cib partners (pams, sams) and gtb partners (tmos, psss) to identify business opportunities to increase local transaction services for multinationals. Champion a client-centric culture and leverage the bank’s global and in-country footprint, systems, and product knowledge to deliver tailored global and local solutions and grow revenue and primacy. Ensure high connectivity between countries to facilitate cross-product/cross-regional opportunities are identified, referred, and closed. Build kpi and performance metrics for sales teams and hold teams accountable for meeting goals. Stay keenly aware of the changing macro environment and regulatory landscape, and their impact on the industry and potential future opportunities. Design and implement tmo and mnc sales value proposition: ensure the roll-out of the tmo/mnc sales model across gtb is a success; both in na and in collaboration with partners in south america, europe and apac. Develop and implement tailored multinational training plan across all countries for tmos, mnc sales and other stakeholders. Ensure consistency of sales and implementation processes across all countries. Ensure global/local product initiatives and roadmaps are communicated to sales teams to enhance sales pitches. Ensure marketing/sales effectiveness initiatives are aligned with multinational project (proposals, rfps, marketing material, scotiabank.com) build kpi and performance structure for tmos and mncs and track through salesforce. Ensure proper gearing and industry allocations for tmos and mncs. Monitor tmo and mnc sales business development and ensure kpis are met: support gtb and cib in account planning activities for multinational clients. Ensure sales tools are in place for pipeline coordination across tmos/pams and mnc sales/sams. Facilitate global client deep dive calls to strategize on multinational business development. Use data/analytics to identify product gaps/opportunities globally. Ensure that conferences and client events identify global opportunities and keep traction. Ensure that senior leadership is involved in and/or aware of key multinational pitches and proposals. Create an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with scotiabank’s values, its code of conduct, and the global sales principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, aml/atf/sanctions, and conduct risk. Build a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.
