Hotel finance director role
about the position:
this luxury resort seeks an experienced finance director to oversee all financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial records, compliance with internal policies and regulations, and delivering high-quality financial reports.
* main responsibilities:
* ensure adherence to financial objectives and goals
* deliver timely and excellent quality financial reports
* ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
* generate monthly income statements, balance sheets, aging reports, and inventory reports
* coordinate and support the audit process
* supervise, train, and administer personnel reporting to this position
* oversee all taxes related to the property
* maintain and protect contracts, licenses, leases, and ensure compliance
* promote effective internal control through good relations with departments within the resort, corporate, and owners
* be knowledgeable about all accounting areas within the resort, f&b cost control, and payroll
* prepare annual performance evaluations for colleagues reporting to this position
* identify strengths and opportunity areas related to promotions or salary increases
* complete any other assigned task by the finance manager or dof
requirements and qualifications:
* bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
* minimum 3 years of experience in hotel accounting, in a luxury or ultra-luxury property
* spanish speaker preferred
* english intermediate - advance
* strong knowledge in usali
* analytical skills
* experience with financial reconciliations
* critical thinking and problem-solving skills
* knowledge about opera, micros, hyperion, iscala systems
