Past model service sales engineer – aptiv
overview
help shape the future of mobility by managing the past model service business for both current and past automotive models. You will support our customers with accurate rfqs, pricing, and service support while building strong long‑term relationships.
responsibilities
* quote customer rfqs (direct and tier).
* analyze each part number to verify production status, release and ppap compliance to avoid customer penalties.
* evaluate tooling, investment cost, design engineering changes, and harness/kit cost versus price.
* estimate packaging expenses and obtain capacity/grouping information.
* submit formal rfqs to customers and ensure purchase order release matches quoted prices.
* collaborate with the gmcca buyer to resolve price discrepancies and follow the purchase‑order verification process.
* provide daily pricing updates to customer service for dealer sales agreements.
* support the account manager in controlling eligible part numbers for past model price increase (pmpi).
* maintain a price history tracker and report on status relative to goals.
* build and nurture customer relationships: conduct face‑to‑face meetings, maintain contact lists, and manage account‑specific expectations.
* assist the account manager with resolution of account receivable issues and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
* coordinate with internal teams (eds, dcs, dec) to follow up on missing quotes.
qualifications
* high level of english proficiency (80% or higher).
* bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a related field.
* 3+ years of experience in engineering (application, process, methods, quality, manufacturing).
* knowledge of e‑change/ecm and engineering changes.
* experience with manufacturing product release processes.
* valid visa and passport.
* proficiency in microsoft office.
* strong teamwork orientation.
