payroll admin
the payroll administrator is primarily based onsite and responsible for managing the time and attendance system and payroll process for employees in mexico. This includes ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and efficiency in all payroll-related transactions, such as collecting, processing, and verifying attendance and payroll data, calculating salaries, taxes, deductions, and overtime, generating reports, and addressing employee inquiries related to payroll and attendance.
key responsibilities:
1. manage and maintain the time and attendance system, ensuring its proper operation and data integrity.
2. support front-line leaders in reporting attendance events accurately and timely.
3. collect, review, and process employee attendance data according to company policies.
4. validate attendance incidents and request necessary justifications.
5. ensure correct integration of attendance data with payroll for accurate compensation calculation.
6. process payroll information, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, leaves, and vacations.
7. calculate salaries, overtime (per mexican law), bonuses, commissions, and other compensation accurately.
8. calculate and withhold applicable taxes and deductions, ensuring compliance with mexican regulations.
9. process other deductions and ensure timely payroll payments via various methods.
10. generate and distribute clear payroll slips to employees.
11. prepare periodic payroll and attendance reports for management and compliance purposes.
12. reconcile payroll and attendance records with accounting and bank records to ensure accuracy.
13. stay updated on mexican labor and tax laws to ensure regulatory compliance.
14. respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and attendance issues.
15. maintain accurate, confidential payroll and attendance records.
16. support internal and external audits related to payroll and attendance.
17. participate in projects to improve payroll and attendance management systems and processes.
qualifications:
* bachelor's degree in public accounting, business administration, human resources, or related field.
* at least 2 years of experience in payroll administration and attendance management in mexico.
* deep knowledge of mexican labor and tax laws related to payroll and attendance.
* experience with payroll processing and attendance systems (preferably workday or similar erp systems).
* proficiency in microsoft office, especially excel.
* strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate calculations, including mexican overtime laws.
* ability to handle confidential information ethically.
* excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
* strong organizational and time management skills.
