This position develops and maintains procedures to control all plant assets, revenues, and expenses, ensuring consistent application of procedures and gaap standards within assigned responsibilities. Responsibilities include analyzing financial trends, costs, and obligations to forecast future revenues and expenses. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 10–12 years of experience in the field or in a related area. The controller should be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field, rely on sound judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals, and be capable of performing a variety of tasks with a degree of creativity and latitude. Key responsibilities and main activities: ·establish procedures to ensure the control of the plant’s financial resources. ·review and update plant activities to ensure accounting systems are properly developed. ·prepare financial statements and operating accounts. ·supervise the preparation and interpretation of the plant’s financial analyses. ·review and update activities to ensure reports are properly developed and delivered on time. ·supervise the preparation and interpretation of company financial statements. ·direct the preparation and interpretation of financial analyses for plant operations. ·analyze and recommend actions to the director and managers regarding variances and company plans. ·coordinate with the operations director in preparing the annual plant budgets and monthly forecasts, including issuing budget instructions, comparative information, forms, and delivery deadlines. ·coordinate annual audits. ·evaluate and assist in the preparation of major expenditures, maintaining control to ensure spending stays within acceptable limits. ·oversee capital project audits to ensure profitability and return on investment. ·direct the annual physical inventory, evaluate and reconcile results, and determine excess or obsolete inventory quantities. ·supervise the maintenance of standard cost files. ·recruit, train, and develop finance staff through training, job rotation, and educational programs. ·support the organization in its continuous improvement efforts. ·support the organization’s goals and values. ·demonstrate teamwork by collaborating with others to improve performance and service standards. ·meet plant, division, and corporate deadlines.
