the role
we are seeking a regional business development coordinator for latin america & the caribbean to support the design, negotiation, coordination, and management of proposals, donor reporting, grants compliance, and resource mobilization initiatives across the region. This is a temporary 6‑month role to cover maternity leave. The process is moving quickly, so candidates should be available to participate in an accelerated selection process.
the position will work closely with country offices, the regional office, national organisations, institutional donors, corporate partners, and internal teams to strengthen grant management, proposal development, donor compliance, resource mobilization systems, and funding pipeline visibility across latin america and the caribbean.
what we’re looking for (read carefully — this is essential)
* 5+ years of relevant professional experience
* 3+ years of proven experience in grants management
* experience supporting donor compliance, grant documentation, proposal processes, and donor reporting
* working knowledge of donor requirements and formats, including results frameworks, results-based management, and/or logical frameworks
* strong understanding of the international aid market in latin america and the caribbean
* experience working with institutional donors, corporate donors, or resource mobilization teams
* ability to support proposal development, funding opportunity analysis, and regional grant coordination
* experience working with country offices, regional teams, or multi-country structures is highly desirable
systems, reporting & coordination mindset
* experience using corporate systems such as sap, crm, or similar platforms
* strong proficiency in ms office, especially excel, word, and outlook
* ability to prepare reports, track grant pipelines, support funding gap analysis, and ensure data consistency across systems
* strong attention to detail, follow‑up discipline, and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
communication & stakeholder management
* excellent written and verbal communication skills in english and spanish
* ability to coordinate with internal stakeholders across programs, finance, resource mobilization, national organisations, and country offices
* strong organizational, planning, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
* french or portuguese is a plus
key responsibilities (summary)
* coordinate proposal development, approval processes, and grant documentation
* support regional and country teams in donor compliance and grant management
* monitor high‑value grants and identify bottlenecks, risks, and possible solutions
* support resource mobilization reports, donor intelligence, grants pipeline tracking, and funding gap analysis
* provide technical guidance to country offices on institutional donors, corporate partnerships, and individual giving
* support the correct use of systems such as sap, crm, and other corporate platforms
* facilitate trainings, webinars, and workshops related to resource mobilization
* strengthen knowledge management through documentation, best practices, and internal resource libraries
