job summary
1. Category strategy development: devise comprehensive strategies for managing and growing the category based on market research, competitive analysis, customer insights, and sales data.
2. Vendor relations: foster strong relationships with existing vendors/sellers and recruit new ones to enhance the product variety, negotiating contracts to secure favorable terms and promotions.
3. Sales and performance metrics: monitor and analyze category performance metrics to identify opportunities for growth, operational improvements, and increased profitability.
4. Collaboration and coordination: work across various company departments including marketing, logistics, customer service, and finance to ensure alignment with category strategy and execution of promotional activities.
5. Product assortment and merchandising: oversee and optimize product assortment, ensuring a compelling mix that meets customer demand, and work with marketing to effectively merchandise products.
qualifications
1. Experience: minimum of 3 years of experience in category management, sales, or a related field within a retail or e-commerce environment. Prior experience in vendor negotiations and assortment planning is essential.
2. Analytical skills: strong analytical and quantitative abilities to evaluate complex data, deliver insights, and develop actionable strategies.
3. Comunication: exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to cultivate relationships with vendors and cross-functional teams.
