what will you do?
under general direction, responsible for performing complex procurement functions in compliance with johnson controls internal policies, participate in bids under corporate direction, address issues with suppliers, and keep metrics for inventory value, turns, escalations, and discrepancies according to goals. Comply with guidelines and regulations of environmental health & safety.
how will you do it?
1. Procures assigned materials to meet the goals of johnson controls regarding inventory turns, cost, quality, and customer requirements.
2. Places purchase orders through optimize for assigned materials and executes maintenance as the system requires according to forecast (expedite, de-expedite & cancel).
3. Analyzes optimize shortages report for each vendor (consign & no consign).
4. Conducts e&o review and follows up with actions to minimize inventory impact.
5. Follows up with soi projects implementation with mke procurement team.
6. Approves premium freight.
7. Ensures routing guide is distributed to all vendors anytime this is updated and supports foreign vendors with shipping instructions as needed.
8. Provides eta responses for all planning summarized files (special requests).
9. Maintains purchasing parameters as required (moq, mpu, lt time, pricing, auto reply flag, current cost - ivm format).
10. Supports procurement in reduction initiatives, cost & lead time reduction, supplier consolidation, and inventory management programs with supply base that includes vendor stocking, consignment, and vendor-managed inventory.
what we look for:
required:
* university degree and 1 year suggested minimum experience, or 2-year degree and 6 years suggested minimum experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* sap experience.
* experience with managing suppliers in a high volume/high mix manufacturing environment.
preferred:
* apics certified in production and inventory management (cpim) certification.
* experience with inventory forecasting, developing supplier schedules, and reducing scheduling variances.
