description: supports reception of products and fulfillment of customer orders through operational processes to ensure customer material is in optimal condition at the required time.
general job description:
under general supervision, performs activities such as:
* efficient and safe delivery and collection of packages.
* checks packages for proper labeling, legality, weight, size, proper packaging, insured values, and special requirements for hazardous materials shipments.
* provides accurate documentation related to package collection and delivery, such as airway guides, delivery records, vehicle condition, etc.
* seeks additional business from current clients; if unsuccessful, channels them to the sales manager.
* informs station operations, managers, and sales of changes in customer handling and/or competitors.
* safely loads and unloads aircraft and company vehicles.
* performs size and weight audits of packages and boxes.
* ensures the use of safety equipment and full compliance with fedex policies, procedures, and safety practices.
* operates company vehicles safely and performs basic maintenance (cleaning, washing, tire pressure, etc.).
minimum requirements:
education level:
* high school diploma or equivalent.
* basic english preferred.
minimum experience:
* preferred experience in ramp operation and warehouse equipment.
minimum skills required:
* ability to lift 32 kg and handle packages up to 150 lbs (68 kg) with appropriate equipment.
* availability to work variable shifts.
* vehicle maintenance and manual/electric tool handling experience preferred.
* attention to detail and accuracy.
* planning and organizational skills.
* problem-solving skills.
* teamwork skills.
