as an rf optimization engineer, you will be responsible for end-to-end radio network optimization activities across 2g, 3g, lte, and potentially 5g networks. You will work closely with vendor and operator teams, supporting new site launches, swaps, and ongoing network performance improvements. The position involves deep kpi analysis, parameter tuning, feature activation, and troubleshooting of worst-performing cells using ericsson tools and platforms. This is an excellent opportunity for senior rf professionals seeking international exposure in a challenging, high-impact telecom project.
Key responsibilities
perform ran optimization activities for 2g, 3g, lte networks (5g experience is a plus)
execute initial tuning for new sites, expansions, and swap projects
analyze network kpis and implement actions to improve performance and quality
identify worst cells, perform root-cause analysis, and drive resolution
adjust radio parameters and activate features within ericsson environments
support drive testing activities and post-drive data analysis
collaborate closely with engineering, planning, and performance teams
required qualifications & skills
minimum 8 years of hands‑on rf optimization experience
strong vendor‑side experience with ericsson ran solutions
proven expertise in initial tuning and advanced kpi analysis
proficiency with ericsson tools such as enm, oss, tems, actix, winfiol, and moshell
solid understanding of radio performance, coverage, capacity, and quality optimization
ability to work independently in complex, fast‑paced project environments
nice‑to‑have skills
hands‑on experience with 5g nr optimization
previous involvement in telcel, at&t mexico, altán, or similar latam operator projects
experience working on international or multi‑country optimization programs
strong reporting and stakeholder communication skills
